Happy trails

    Even though it felt like it would never come summer is finally here.  What are your plans?  We spent three days in Philadelphia for my husband's first (of three) medical exams.  A trip to Bremerton, WA is next for a visit with my family.  We hope to get some good time in with the grandparents and other family.  

   Right now we enjoy every day with a 3.5 year old and her active toddler brother.  What things can we do this summer that we didn't do last summer?  Who knows but we will try to enjoy the time before Abby starts school.  

     That is something totally new to me, sending my daughter to school.  She will be attending New Haven's first public Montessori school which opens in August.  She won her spot in the Magnet School Lottery with somewhere between a 1 and 8 to 1 in 10 chance of getting in.  So many families don't get to be a part of this exciting new venture and I am happy she does even if it is only for the first year.  

                   Still working on my first novel but taking a break for a short while.  I am also pondering if this fall is the right time to start a Master's in Early Childhood Education.  In the meantime we are trying to give the husband space as he studies for the final two of his exams.  Hopefully things will settle down more once he is finished.
